I’m looking forward to next weeks TUGA IT conference in Portugal. I’m pretty honoured and excited and it will be the first time I visit Portugal at all.
During this conference, I will hold a full day branding workshop gives you an insight into modern web design and development covering the following topics.
Last weekend I had the great opportunity to speak at the SharePoint Saturday Stockholm for the very first time. This event is really great because I already attended the last two events too, and it was a great time to visit this beautiful city as well as meet some friends.
On Saturday I had my session in a packed full room and sorry for the people who had to stand at the back. A big thanks to all the attendees.
Well. At the beginning of this year I am not expecting so many speaking engagements this year. In addition to the European SharePoint conference that take place in Stockholm from 9th to 12th of November there are two new events coming up.
SharePoint Saturday Munich
The SharePoint Saturday Munich happen on 10th of October and has a really amazing line up of speakers. I pretty excited that my session was picked an I am able to speak there.
SharePoint Saturday Oslo
Only seven days later, on 17th of October, I will travel to Oslo again for another SharePoint Saturday to speak at. I have never been to Oslo before, so I’m really looking forward to a great event.
European SharePoint Conference and Hackathon
Last but not least the European SharePoint Conference running from 9th to 12th of November will be the biggest event for me to speak so far.
Actually, there were some really great announcements during the last weeks. The keynote on “The Modern Workplace: Evolution of SharePoint and Office 365” to this event will be held by Jeff Teper, Seth Petton and Bill Bear.
During this conference Jeremy Thake will host a Hackathon for “Build amazing add-ins for Office and SharePoint in Office 365“. This event happens on Tuesday the 10th of November. If you like to show your skills and ideas. There is no better option than to sign up for this. Each member of the winning team will get an XBox one.
My session is about SASS and how it fits into your modern SharePoint branding and development approach. The session is entitled “Stop your SharePoint CSS become a di-SASS-ter today!” and covers the following key takeaways.
– I will explain what SASS is and where you would use it.
– How to use SASS to brand SharePoint without requiring lengthy deployments.
– How to create simple Rich Text Editor Styles using mixins and includes.
– How to apply a Grid layout and make it Responsive.
– How to structure your branding correctly to make it more maintainable.
– How CSS 4 fits into the picture and does it make SASS obsolete?
About one month before my session in Antwerp, on 19th of March, I will be available to for an SPChat on Branding Office 365 using SASS.
You are gladly welcome to open discussion on how to get started using SASS. Get to know some cutting edge extensions that you should take a look into and talking about the challenges in Office 365 when it comes to enhance the user experience.
Happy New Year to all the readers of my blog and I wish you all the best. The year 2013 is gone and there were a lot of things I’ve done. I love to take the new challenges for the year 2014 and this will be an amazing year for sure. I also have to thank the community for the great feedback I received.
The right time to take a last look back to the gone year and look forward to a fantastic year 2014.
I was honored when Mark Jones asked me to join sharepoint-community.net to be part of the community representatives. To join this group of people was on of the best decisions I ever made. It’s fun and challenging to build up such community.
Soon after joining we started to make the first idea to organize an online conference. This is now better known as http://www.sp24conf.com. To me it was also a great opportunity to show my skills and develop the responsive web design based on Microsoft SharePoint Foundation from scratch.
The 24 – Hours SharePoint Conference
I started to help other people back in the year 2011. I love to answer questions there, because they are very useful in several ways. Read quality reply by other and learn about other people challenges. The last thing helped me a lot to do my job better. I was awarded in the year 2011 / 2012 with the SharePoint Community award. In 2013 I wasn’t awarded because I had too many side projects. This year I passed the score of 10.000 points, which indeed was unreachable when I started.
I still love to blog. Not only on this blog. I also joined brandmysharepoint.de. This is a German blog about SharePoint Branding.
One highlight of my blog was that I reached 100.000 page views.
Hopefully I get more opportunities to speak about cutting edge web technologies and how they can be applied to SharePoint. Currently I have one event in my plan, where I will have a session but I truly hope that this won’t be the only one.
